If you have a question, chances are we've been asked it a thousand times. So here are just a few of the most common ones! If you have any further questions you would like answering, please feel free to get in touch by clicking below!
First of all, steam is hotter than hot water. Obviously, to get steam, the water must boil and evaporate into steam. Steam can actually cause some stains to set. If a cleaning agent such as an acidic rinse is being used, steam cannot provide as thorough a rinse as hot water can. Hot water thoroughly flushes the carpet fibers and removes dirt.
No. Hot water extraction is the preferred and recommended cleaning method of many carpet manufacturers. It is generally considered the best method of removing embedded dirt and other contaminants.
Wherever possible, we would ask you to have the room empty of all furniture before our arrival e.g. wardrobes, sofas, beds, or any valuable/breakable items, etc. This will allow us to commence cleaning as soon as we arrive.
When it comes to large, heavy items of furniture that are difficult to move and you’d prefer to l;eave them in situ, then that’s not a problem, unless moved before our arrival we will happily clean up to and around these items.
Generally, very large and heavy furnishings such as wall cabinets may not have been moved since the carpet was installed and therefore the carpet beneath may not require cleaning.
The answer to this question varies from carpet to carpet and is dependent upon several factors, such as carpet pile depth and the type of carpet fibre, for example, wool carpets take longer to dry than synthetic fibres. Opening windows or increasing the room temperature will help to dry them much faster.
You can walk on them straight away, but they may remain damp to the touch for a few hours. If walking straight on freshly cleaned carpets it’s advised not to wear coloured socks as this could cause colour transfer to the carpet.
However, as a guideline, we use a turbo drying system which can dry your carpet and upholstery in as little as 1 - 2 hours.
Most manufacturers recommend that carpets should be cleaned every 12-18 months. If you have pets this could be 9-12 months.
All the cleaning solutions we use here at Reviive are child and pet friendly. Whilst it’s safe for pets to go on the freshly cleaned carpet or upholstery immediately after cleaning we would suggest, if possible, waiting a couple of hours until completely dry. The reason for this is that pets can unknowingly carry dirt on their feet or body, which when in contact with wet carpet, can transfer to the fabric. There’s nothing worse than having your carpets or upholstery reviived, only for them to become dirty again before they’re even dry!
Whilst it's not that common with modern-day carpet construction, some carpets may be prone to shrinkage, however, we have a vast amount of knowledge and can spot fibres within a carpet which may cause this. If the carpet is deemed to have a high risk of shrinkage we will advise you of this and you may wish to get someone in who specialises in dry cleaning carpets, rather than using a wet process such as hot water extraction.
Our prices are extremely competitive and we offer excellent value for money! The price you pay varies on the number of rooms you require cleaning, whether or not there is any significant staining such as pet urine, paint, etc. The more areas you have cleaned in one visit, the more cost-effective this will be. Due to the time it takes to travel to customers, set up all our equipment and pack it away again, we do have a minimum price per job of £50. More often than not we will be able to quote you over the phone or by text/email, however, for more problematic or high-risk carpets or upholstery, we may like to visit your property to carry out a pre-clean survey and quote accordingly.
We accept cash, PayPal or bank transfer and final payment is payable upon completion of work.
Yes, we offer this service and suggest it is done as soon as the carpet has been cleaned. The protector we use is odourless and harmless to pets and little ones. Benefits include protection from liquid spills and soil, which is easily removed with daily vacuuming. Not only this but carpets will not wear as quickly.
Absolutely! We are a fully insured carpet and upholstery cleaning company. We carry insurance for our employees and for the work that we do in your home. We also guarantee customer satisfaction. Was something not cleaned the way that you expected? Let us know, and we will do our best to put things right.
Pets are a part of the family, so it's only right that all the cleaning solutions we use are not only child friendly, but pet friendly too! During our visit we recommend that you do keep your pet somewhere they will be comfortable — not all of our furry friends like the sound of vacuums or unfamiliar people in their space.
No problem at all! We have extra hoses and we have portable equipment for use in high-rise buildings.
At Reviive, we understand that life happens. Sometimes things come up that can’t wait. If you find yourself needing to cancel or reschedule your appointment, please do your best to do so a week in advance. A minimum of 36-hour cancellation fee applies.
